Day 1: Everyone Receives a Gift
1 Peter 4:10a – “Just as each one has received a gift…”
Have you ever felt left out? Maybe you were the last one picked for a team or overlooked at an event. But in God’s family, no one is forgotten—everyone receives a gift! God has uniquely equipped you with a spiritual gift to serve others. These gifts are not earned but are freely given by His grace.
Take time today to reflect on the gifts God has given you. Are you using them for His purpose? Pray and ask God to reveal how you can use your gifts to serve others for His glory.
Reflection Question: How has God uniquely gifted you, and how can you use that gift for the good of others?
Day 2: Stewarding the Gift
1 Peter 4:10b – “Use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.”
Imagine borrowing a friend’s car. Would you treat it carelessly, or would you be careful, knowing it belongs to someone else? The gifts God has given you are meant to be stewarded well. They aren’t just for personal fulfillment but for serving others and advancing God’s Kingdom.
Consider how you are currently using your gifts. Are they being used for God’s glory or personal gain? Ask God to help you steward your gift wisely and use it to bring Him honor.
Reflection Question: In what ways can you be a better steward of the gifts God has given you?
Day 3: The Heart of Service
Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
True service comes from a heart that values others above self. Jesus exemplified this when He washed His disciples’ feet. Serving isn’t about recognition or feeling good; it’s about loving others selflessly.
Look for an opportunity today to serve someone without expecting anything in return. Whether it’s a small act of kindness or a larger commitment, let your service be an outflow of love for Christ.
Reflection Question: How can you shift your focus from what you gain to how you can bless others through service?
Day 4: Serving with the Right Motive
Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Serving should always point others to Jesus, not to ourselves. Whether you have a speaking gift like teaching or a serving gift like hospitality, the purpose is to bring glory to God. When our motives are right, our service becomes an act of worship.
Examine your heart today. Are you serving to be seen and appreciated, or to make Christ known? Pray that God would purify your motives and help you serve with a heart that seeks His glory.
Reflection Question: Are your acts of service bringing attention to yourself or pointing others to Christ?
Day 5: Love is the Foundation
John 13:34-35 – “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
The foundation of all service is love. Jesus didn’t just tell us to serve; He showed us how by giving His life. When we grow in our love for Christ, it naturally overflows into love for others.
Think of one way you can intentionally love and serve someone today. It could be a kind word, an act of generosity, or offering your time. Let your love be the evidence of Christ in you.
Reflection Question: How can you grow in love for others as a response to God’s love for you?
